Thanksgiving and Fall Gift Basket Ideas for Kids
I am one who loves the holidays and I have challenged myself to gift my daughter a sweet little basket for each holiday to get her excited about what is to come! My daughter is a book worm, so I try to include a few books in each basket for her to enjoy. For this basket I gifted it to my daughter in a picnic basket. Its not only a cute gift basket, but it also can be used for us to have a family picnic this fall!

Before I stayed home with my daughter, I was a kindergarten teacher. I loved all of the fun activities I was able to do with my students for each holiday. One of my favorite take home projects was where they had to disguise a turkey. I would start by reading them the book Turkey Trouble. I would send a print out of a turkey home with them and their job was to disguise it so that it wouldn’t be seen and eaten for that thanksgiving. Every year my students would have so much fun and I loved seeing how creative they were with their turkey’s disguises!
Below I have attached a free printable that you can print off for your kids to enjoy this thanksgiving break. What disguise do you think your child will come up with for their turkey.
Turkey Trouble Activity: Disguise a Turkey
- Read Turkey Trouble.
- Print out turkey. (preferably on cardstock)
- Have your child disguise their turkey- You can have them color their turkey disguise, or they can glue items onto their turkey.
Easy Alternative: Here is a sticker version where they can disguise a turkey. Perfect for toddlers, young kids, or if you are just running out of time and want to help keep your child entertained.
Addition for older kids: After they have disguised their turkey, have them write a sentence or a story of how their turkey is disguising themselves to not get eaten.
